Curly Girls use oil on a daily basis but do we know why? what about the different types of oils out there? What oil is best for us? The benefits associated with that oil?
My goal is to help you with that journey, every oil is not for everybody and all oils are certainly not created equally so I will be posting a short series of different oils and the benefits associated with them and this is my first installment!
The first Oil I will discuss will be Olive Oil, having been cultivated for over 6,000 years and used in cooking, and more recently hair; I thought olive oil would be a great first oil to discuss on our blog. The Olive Tree is native to the Mediterranean and Western Asia and has been used for centuries to prevent hair loss, condition the hair, and created a lustrous shine. Check out some of the benefits associated with using olive oil in your hair as well as some suggestions on how to use it.
Olive Oil benefits:
How To Use Olive Oil:
Essentially if you are looking for something to provide a healthy shine, thicken your hair, and do a bunch of other things than this oil is for you. Olive oil is a great inexpensive oil to use especially during your transition (or any time during your healthy hair journey) it is exactly what your hair needs at that time: hair thickener, conditioner, improves circulation which promotes hair growth in the scalp, and fights of fungi. Be sure to grab EVOO( Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and be careful of labels and details as corruption in the production of Olive Oil is currently HUGE especially in the United States where the USDA has no regulations out about what qualifies as an EVOO and what does not. A good tip would be to research which brand you are considering buying if you plan on sticking with it.
